Lightweight and Easy to use, Hurricane Fabric can Cover Areas Large and Small with Ease.

Hurricane fabric is becoming more and more popular because it is lightweight and can protect very large areas from storm damage.  It is the ideal product to cover patio areas.  The fabric panels use either a grommet or strap and buckle system to attach to the opening with mounting hardware and can be easily deployed prior to a hurricane.  When not in use, hurricane fabric can be easily folded and stored in the included storage bag which is easy to manage due to it light weight.

  • Fabric-Shield panels are available in custom sizes to fit the window and door openings in your home.
  • Panels are lightweight PVC coated with PVC vinyl weave. They can be stored rolled up, laid flat, or hung vertically.
  • Panels are translucent, allowing diffused natural light to enter the home.

The pros and cons of hurricane fabric.

Pro – Hurricane fabric is lightweight and easy to manage.

Pro – Extremely large areas can be covered including patios and outdoor living areas.  Once the screens are deployed these make great places to store outdoor items during a hurricane.

Pro – Even if a window or door is breached during a storm the hurricane fabric will protect from water intrusion and will keep the pressure inside the structure stable to avoid further damage.

Con – Hurricane fabric is not designed to stop windows from breaking.  Although the fabric is able to withstand a tremendous impact it has severe deflection and needs to be installed far away from glass to avoid any breakage.

Con – Relative to other panel products such as steel and aluminum, hurricane fabric is more expensive per square foot.
